WELSH SOUTH EAST NATIONAL FC
Hello National members and welcome to my latest offering.
Well, who would have thought it. Here we are already approaching the first of our National races. Yes! Maidstone National is this weekend. Marking is on Saturday 1st September for liberation (hopefully) on Sunday 2nd. There are a couple of items that I have been asked to mention.
Once again I ask that ALL members please fill out their entry forms fully. By this I mean simple things to assist the Secretaries. Distances, Section you fly in, correct ring numbers. It is amazing how many don’t do these things then complain when their winning time is in the wrong Section, or the result is held up, sometimes until the next day due to no distances being available. The rules also state, quite clearly, that ALL ring numbers must be the property of the member racing them. Transfer rings not registered to you, and in the case of non WHPU rings, they must also be registered with the WHPU. Failure to observe these rules will mean disqualification. This has happened on quite a few occasions this year. All, and I mean All ring numbers of birds featuring in the Sections and Open lists are sent to the WHPU Secretary. Any not transferred or registered are disqualified.
Your Sensor pads for ETS must be sealed into position, and seal numbers recorded by an official of the National. If you have moved your pads from an OB section to your YB section, you must have them resealed. I have stated all of the above several times in the past, yet there are still fanciers who do not carry out these things. By the way, they are usually the ones who shout the most when they get a good position taken from them.
That’s it, I wish each and every one of you a great successful race. For those of you who will win their Section and Open, I will be telephoning you soon after the race for details of the winning birds. I will also be arranging for the 1st Open winner to be visited by our Official Photographer, Chris Sutton, and photos of the winning pigeon, the fanciers and lofts etc. taken. Here once again is my e-mail address. This is where I will ask you to send details of the winners and photos too. Please make a note of it.
geoffblackhall@virginmedia.com tel. 07891831831 or 01513568204. should you need to contact me. If you are unable to take a photo of your Section winner also you in front of your loft too, someone in the family or a friend will be only too happy to take them for you. I can then ensure that you get the publicity you deserve. If you are able to get these taken before I call then great. Make a note of the birds details too. Strain, how sent, colour & sex, anyone you wish to thank, any interesting stories that you have. All this makes great reading. I am looking forward to a very good race with excellent returns.
Anne and I are attending the Halkyn marking station to help out, as Arthur Cowley is on hols. Everyone will be made most welcome and tea and coffee will be available too.( will you be there Chez ).
